high capacitance values, compact form factors, and improved temperature
performance. It provides 10 F of capacitance (with a 20% tolerance). MLCCs from
the GRM family are offered in a 0201inch/0603M package size. They represent a
65% size reduction compared to the 0402-inch/1005M items that would typically
need to be specified, making them the smallest MLCC products on the market to
deliver such capacitance levels.
• In April
2023, for use in autos, Samsung Electro-Mechanics introduced the MLCC 1210 inch
220 F device. This is applicable to autonomous driving (AD) and advanced driver
assistance systems (ADAS) in cars. Because of the electrification and excessive
capabilities of autos, the number of MLCCs established in a single vehicle is
rapidly increasing.
